Joseph ‘Jack’ Fox has been a commercial and industrial real estate developer and broker in the Salem are for the past 50 years. He specializes in larger office and industrial construction and/or leasing projects.

Jack has developed and personally holds several industrial and business parks in the Salem area along with numerous other commercial retail and office properties. Jack graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology with a major in engineering and a minor in business. He has participated in National Real Estate Brokers Institute courses in estate investment and taxation, along with courses in management, estate planning, accounting syndication and retail development. Other affiliations with international groups include IDRC, Industrial Development Research Council of Fortune 1000, and ICSC, International Council of Shopping Centers.

Jack’s real estate activities include the assemblage and development of retail commercial shopping center which include number of large site projects. Several examples would be the development of a 128,000 sf eleven acre Future Shop-Sears-Circuit City center and assembly and development of the 16 acre Evergreen Plaza-Target 200,000 sf. shopping center in Salem, along with the assembly of 52 acres, which encompassed 41 parcels of property, in the Portland metropolitan market. He also assembled and rezoned two residential neighborhoods to retail which resulted in the development of a Costco and Waremart shopping complex that was developed in conjunction with SuperValue. Jack’s involvement in retails stems from shopping center site work for major retailers such as SuperValue Foods, Target, Big Lots, Shopko, Home Depot, Circuit City, Burger King and other fast food chains.

Some of Jack’s key properties in the area include a well-located, high quality 57-acre business park at the southeast corner of Cherry Avenue and Salem Parkway. This business park is home to several State of Oregon Department of Human Services agencies and a variety of other tenants such as Dal Tile, Fastenal and Josef Seibel. He also has an 185,000 sf office park at the northeast corner of the same intersection. This office park is home to the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife’s state headquarters along with a number of other state agencies including the Department of Human Services, the Northwest Senior and Disabled Services. Sentry Insurance also has their regional headquarters in this office park. Jack also has an industrial park located in Independence, Oregon which consists of 67 acres and is partially occupied by Medallion Cabinets.
